Selected Activities and Results of the BioFrankfurt Network

The network is fostering an intensive exchange of knowledge between international experts in a wide array of disciplines, as well as the transfer of their knowledge to the public. Activities of BioFrankfurt include various regional communication and education projects and following core activities

  • a focused education program about biodiversity, with exhibitions, symposia, guided tours and excursions
  • special information and training aimed at schools and teachers
  • co-ordinated research projects to establish new ideas and to capitalise on potential synergies
  • an ongoing dialogue with partners in industry and society

The campaign aims to inform about the surprising diversity of animal and plant life in the city and its surroundings, and their important role for the ecological balance of our region.

BiK-F is a joint venture between the Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung and the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, Germany – both being members of BioFrankfurt. Further partners are the Institut für sozial-ökologische Forschung (ISOE), Deutscher Wetterdienst and EUMETSAT.
